No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Always thought that Sachtler tripods were a very high end product, but this system is not! The mid-spreaders broke only after a few uses. They are made of really cheap plastic. Plus the spreaders don't extend out very far, leaving the tripod in a odd postion at times.
