Landscape photography.Low light photos.
Have had other tripods units, have had trouble with leg extensions, the type that unscrew.
I know these leg extensions will wear in time, but from having the alum verison of this tripod it will be couple of years.

Lots has been said and written about this excellent, albeit pricey tripod. A tripod is a tripod, so it takes the human shake out of the equation. Where carbon fibre stand out from the rest is in portability and light weight which in turn makes re-positionings a cinch. Great for down low macro work as well. Can't go wrong with Manfrotto...

Very well built and stable. To me it seems like a lot of money for a tripod, but well worth it. Paired it with the Bogen/Manfrotto 486RC2 head.

Best Uses:
Long Exposures, Portraits

Professional
Bottom Line:

This is my second carbon fiber tripod and we love them! Manfrotto/Bogen has the name and is constantly refining their products. This generation comes with a shoulder strap. With over thirty weddings and umpteen on-site portrait sessions, this tripod is a no brainer in that I have never had to think about it. You can spend more money for other tripods, but I don't know why you should. This item gets an A+.
