Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I bought this tripod mainly for outdoor use. Combined with a ball head, it is as flexible as any tripod I've seen. Well built and rugged. Watch the leg locks, though. If you open them the wrong way, they will bite your hand very hard. This is the only flaw that I've encountered with excellent design
