I can set it leveled in about 5 seconds. Much better than messing with the tripod legs to get a leveled picture. Great for video, no more tilting of your picture as you pan left an right.

The Compact Leveling Head is a great addition to the average photographer who doesn't need exact levelling and yet needs a quick method of obtaining near-perfect level without adding bulk to her or his rig. This head adds a little weight and a little extra length to the tripod.
However, for those needing exact levelling such as those creating 360 degree images, this product has an interesting quirk where tightening the adjustment lever changes the level. It takes practice, and a bit of luck, to get exact level which is why this loses a star.

My budget would not support the purchase of the larger Bogen leveling head, but for my particular application, the mounting of a 3-axis panorama head, this smaller head is both simpler and lighter to deal with and the price was a lot more palatable. Maybe it does not offer the absolute precision of adjusting three separate leveling screws like the larger head, but I got into photography to take pictures, not fiddle with equipment all day.
