No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Whenthe camera is in the housing, you cannot turn it on or off. As a result you need to turn it on before you lock the housing. After the camera is not in use for 3 minute it turns itself off automatically and only way to turn it on is to press the ON button that however cannot be reached from the housing controls. If you set the camera to stay on for 30 minutes, then the inside of the housing heats up and it fogs up regularly.
