Small, light camera that takes great photos, works in the cold (I'm in MN) just fine, nice bright viewfinder, only 3 things make it less than perfect: it doesn't take every lens Nikon made like my film bodies do, there's no depth of field button, and I dropped my first D40 3 feet onto carpet and it broke in several places. The fact that I'm buying my 3rd D40 instead of getting a newer one should tell you how much I like this camera.
