This lens got little popular attention when introduced, despite published tests which show it's performance to be as good as any then available, an outstanding value at the time and still a great lens. Subsequent models extended the zoom range and lost performance quality in the trade. It's two ring zoom function makes it slower to use than a single ring model, but it doesn't "creep" the zoom settings either. Used units go cheap, so try it if you need a modest zoom range with a faster aperature.
