The Canon XH-A1 is a great camcorder. After doing all the research, this camcorder works better in low light. Many high def camcorders work great, but with the XH-A1 you can see a huge difference.

I did a simple test and had all the lights in the room turned off except for one small 30 watt light bulb turned on. When you record using the XH-A1, you would think I used extra lighting to film the room.

It has some huge cons, its top heavy and using a tripod for long shooting is necessary. It is complicated to use. What I did was try and play around with the camera and then called tech support to walk me through all the features.

Doing all the research, the XH-A1 has the best low lux of all high def camcorders (other than the higher canon models of course).
