Great battery for the HMC150. Unlike some of the 3rd party batteries, the Panasonic batteries will show the battery life remaining on the LCD screen. It's accurate, and recalculates charge when you open or close the LCD screen or start recording (it actually calculates the usage CONSTANTLY). The discharge is much more linear than 3rd party batteries as well.

Don't waste time and money on the other batteries...just get the Panasonic ones and know that they have the best overall performance. The price difference is really not much at all anyway.

I use it with the HMC40. The only moving parts are the internal optics. On a Full charge, it powers the Panasonic HMC40 For about 7:50+hrs with the LCD Screen on. and about 5-10 percent more just using the smaller viewfinder. I use the rode video mic the has its own battery that is doens't use the camera's power. I imagine that buying the XLR and adapter and mic to go with would reduce the time some but the rode videomic is something to consider in the mean time.

Definately a must. Using xlr mics will kill regular batteries very fast. This battery gives you much more time.
