Great Bracket

The only disappointment is that the Stroboframe camera anti-twist plate (that I bought with it) does not work with this bracket (and it doesn't tell you that anywhere). You have to tighten the camera attach knob very very tight to keep the camera from twisting.

Inexpensive off camera flash bracket

This is an inexpensive off the camera flash bracket. This is an inexpensive off the camera flash bracket. I modified the unit to accept a Really Right Stuff all purpose miniclamp that will not pivot in order to be used with any Arca Swiss type quick disconnect camera plate. I did not care for the Stroboframe camera plates. This is not a robustly designed unit like a pro RRS wedding use flash bracket. The handle grip is very cheesy, a molded soft foam piece slipped over the metal ell bracket. The arm pivot point should have a stop to make it easy to flp the arm 90 degrees and not go past 90 degrees. You get what you pay for.

I use this with my digital camera to move the flash unit off the camera. It is exactly what I need.

Good and Inexpensive

By

from Rutland, Vt

Bought this from the used department. The frame was good but it was missing the shoe mount that comes with the new version. After purchasing that later I didn't really save any money compared to purchasing it retail. I like the frame. Would recommend, but buy it new, not used.

Stroboframe Quick Flip Flash Bracket

By

from Toronto, Canada  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Repositioning flash helps eliminate 'red eye', allows more versatility on flash position relative to the amera (over, under, left, right) positions including bounce that you cannot achieve with on-camera flash. I shoot right handed so I don't know why someone would say "better for lefties". I've used this frame for 15 years w/o issues. It does not interfere with controls on my Canon gear in any way. It is light and durable weigning only ounces - made from anodized aluminum. Good product for the price. Reduces fatigue especially when I have the 70-200mm 2.8 US L ISM lens with extender. That lens is built like a tank - no plastic there.

Good product for midrange DSLR's

By

Firm and roomy enough for you hands using a camera like Canon XTi. Every tight fit for you hands with a Canon 7D. Will also flex a little when the &D is mounted on it.

Great product.

Very nice! Inexpensive, reliable solution. I have to use it as a right handed person with the vertical side on the left, but no problem there. Have used it for one year, three weddings, never let me down.

Thin foam grip

By

from Davison MI  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I have owned a QuickFlip 350 for many years and decided to purchase another one for my new flash. I noticed that the foam grip on the newer QuickFlip is not as thick and doe's not fit as snug on the bracket. I found the new bracket with the thin grip difficult to hold onto for any length of time.I paid [$] for this tool and would have been happy to pay $50.50 for a better grip.

Great for flash location

By

from Long Island NY  -  Casual Photographer

Worked great - only wished there was a one hole that was ont threaded. Drilled my own. Used a longer bolts, which allowed the use of one quick disconnect for mounting.

OK, needs design flaw solution

By

from Tampa, FL  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Works fine as long as the pivot screw is tight, which I found to be a design flaw. After a few uses the pivot screw consistently loosens when switching from portrait to landscape mode and the arm flops due to this, which is very annoying when shooting weddings. Some improvement needed here Stroboframe guys!

Questions about this item:

Harvey M  HOW DO YOU ATTACH A NIKON SC 28 OR 29 TO THIS UNIT?. THE MOUNTING SCREW IS NOT LONG ENOUGH
JASON S  I use canon so not familar with Nikon. But the bracket is designed to use the clamp to hold the end of your cord. I also prefer to bypass the clamp and bolt my cord right on my bracket. To do this I needed a longer bolt from a hardware store.
Harvey M  Thanks. To mount onto unit, suggest you purchase a Manfrotto 262.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
MARK S  get the flash off the camera make it look more natural
donna jean m  can this work with the nikon d610?
PATRICIA V  I use it on every DSLR camera that I own... D7000, D90, D200. I do not use the mount on top. I have a off camera cable that I use and wrap the cord around the side arm.
