About Sennheiser

The Sennheiser MKH 800 TWIN Universal Studio Microphone (Black) features two symmetrical push-pull transducers with high linearity and cardioid polar patterns mounted for "side fire" signal capturing.

This revolutionary design redefines microphone flexibility as the signals remain isolated and are separated on output using the included splitter cable. With the signals remaining on separate channels; unlimited variations of cardioid, omnidirectional and figure eight polar patterns may be achieved.

The microphone's tonal characteristics and signal response makes it well suited for vocals, instruments and ambient signals in any crucial recording application. The MKH 800 TWIN features a slim, low-profile design that makes it unobtrusive and easily mountable.

Sennheiser Features

  • Remote Pattern Variations: The remote adjustability and the variable pick-up patterns make the MKH 800 TWIN a universal main microphone, soloist microphone or supporting mic. Saving of the microphone signals in two channels also allows an unlimited range of mixes to be realized at a later date
  • Flexible Settings: The pick-up patterns can be set and optimized under monitoring conditions. In other words, it is not necessary to fix the pick-up patterns definitively before recording. A wide range of mixes for stereo and surround are possible (including in parallel)
  • Pristine Signal Reproduction: The high sensitivity ensures interference-free signal paths as a result of high signal levels. The inherent noise of downstream microphone amplifiers is thus of minor importance. Very low inherent noise prevents the masking of filigree sound structures
