Regretfully returned

from Detroit MI  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I made the decision to purchase after satisfying results with its little brother, the 1.4x EXDG. I was rather surprised and disappointed at the performance of this version. While I expected some image degradation, the very high IQ of the K20D plus some sharpening in Lightroom should have compensated, IMO, but it did not.

Not compatible with Sigma 70-200mm lens!

from Illinois  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I bought this to use with a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM (and a few other initials I forget). After much testing and no acceptable results, I found a page on the Sigma Japanese site that says that it is not compatible with my lens, but is with the non-HSM version - I hadn't checked the initials on the lens compatibility list close enough. It may be a fine product, but it confused my camera's light sensor and didn't fit any of my other lenses, so I returned it.

Questions about this item:

Don T  Has the problem with the this converter on the 70-200 & the 50-500 not working with auto focus been resolved?
ED C  I didn't know there was a solution, I just shrugged and assumed auto focus did not work.
Johnny W J  Will the Sigma 2X Tele-converter for Pentax work with the APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM? The compatibility chart does not list AF or MF for the Pentax with that lense. The Sigma rep. stated "This is the 1.4 tele converter and there is also a 2x available as well. Understand that it will be a manual focus but you are extending your reach at a reasonable price" Confusing. Thanks.
PERRY C  Not sure about the 120-400 but on my 150-500 the Sigma 2X doubles the focal length, but manual focus only. Optical stabilization does not work either with my K-7. But, the aperture works and it is 300-1000mm. Have a good tripod and head!
