About Sigma EF-610 DG Super

This Sigma EF-610 DG Super Bundle comes with: and Shipping is free!

The EF-610 DG SUPER features a powerful Guide Number of 200ft / 61m and is designed to work with the latest TTL auto exposure systems of all popular digital and film SLR cameras.

The autozoom function automatically sets the optimum illumination angle in accordance with the lens' focal length in a range from 24mm to 105mm. When the built-in Wide Panel is used, the flash can cover an angle of 17mm.

For bounce flash, the flashgun head can be tilted up by 90 degrees, to the left by 180 degrees, or to the right by 90 degrees. It can also be tilted down by 7 degrees allowing ease of use for close-up photography.

Among the advanced features of this flash is a modeling flash function, multi-pulse flash, TTL wireless flash, FP (high speed) flash, rear-curtain Synchro flash and manual flash mode, which allows the photographer to set the flash power level by up to eight stops.

The Auto Power-Off function automatically shuts off the LCD panel to help save battery power. When the flashgun is fully charged, a confirmation 'ready' light will be emitted.

I have seen the light...

By

...and it was BRIGHT! Does all the things the Pentax AF-540FGZ deos and almost all the things as the AF-540FGZ II does but slightly brighter and lower cost. To compare, it is far easier to say what it does not have: Weather resistance, modeling light, left swivel only 90° to the left (but 180° to the right). Both the AF-540FGZ & AF-540FGZ II swivel 135° to the left and the AF-540FGZ II is weather resistant and has an LED modeling/video light. If those are features you need, get the Pentax flash. I recommend you get at least one. If you want to save some money on one or two features you may not need, get the Sigma.

Good Flash

By

I am pleased with this flash. Easy to use. There are a lot of functions, I need to learn. However, for the purpose I neeed it for, it did the job. I would consider getting another flash of this quality.

Great product at a reasonable price

By

I've read reviews that mentioned the build quality is not as good as Nikon's but this is my second Sigma, both have excellent built quality, and both are more powerful than their OEM counterpart, at significant lower prices. Not to mention Adorama threw in some freebies and had it delivered in about three days. Very satisfied with the product and service, definitely recommend to others who are looking for a powerful flash and save some money at the same time.

Great value.

By

Prior to this purchase I had the standard EF 610 and still do. It does such a great job I decided to stay with the same when shopping for a high speed sync model. I bought this product for the high speed sync to shoot Friday night lights (high school football). It has worked flawlessly. The wireless flash capability has been great too with my Pentax K5.

Awesome flash unit!

By

Very powerful, strong mounting foot, excellent zoom tracking, excellent display and controls. Extra features of the Super model are something I could actually do without. So if I ever need to replace this unit, I would go for the standard version.

be careful

By

it is as powerful as advertised...blasts light everywhere, so you can use it on a light modifier like a Westcott Rapid Box (even with the diffusion panel on it) and get great results...takes a while to decipher the manual but it will do what it says...on the downside IT WILL NOT FIRE WITH NON TTL TRIGGERS (cowboy studio, pixel pawn)...I contacted Sigma and they confirmed the compatibility issues but "claim" it will work on Pocket Wizzards...the recycle time is slower than I would have liked and it will burn through your batteries because of the output...if you are going to use it on a ttl cord or on camera, then I'd say it's worth the money...otherwise, proceed with caution

Good Fit

By

I always wanted a shoe mount flash to take more pleasing flash photos. I have several Sigma lenses for my Pentax cameras and they suit my needs. I was not disappointed with the Sigma flash. It does everything I want it to do. I am still experimenting with the flash unit, especially the off-shoe remote options.

As good as a 500 dollar Speed-lite.

By

I usually use studio strobes. I really only use an on camera flash when I shoot events. I use this on an Alzo tilt bracket with an umbrella on a mono pod (the entire rig with a 5Dmk 2 is heavy). I need great output and fast recovery. This works.

Questions about this item:

Tau C  I'm looking for a good flash for auto TTL for my Nikon D5000, without spending the money on a Nikon unit...would this unit work?
RICHARD H  I use it on a Nikon D5000, D7000 and D800. It works great. There is no real manual with it, like most of Sigma's products but it does the job. I did have the battery door pop off, while changing batteries, during a shoot one day but it popped right back on and kept shooting.
Shopper  I am having trouble, can not get it to work as a slave flash. I have followed the instruction 5 times still a no go. Anyone have any input into this problem?
RICHARD F  I am using the EF-610 DG Super with great success. Make sure the channel (1,2,3 or 4) are set the same on the flash and the camera. On the flash unit just press the mode button on the back until SL appears in the lower right corner. Pop up the flash on the camera and then point and shoot. You should have a remote flash. One thing further. Check you flash setting in the camera and make sure it is set to wireless flash. I am using Pentax and there are four settings. Leading shutter, trailing shutter, red eye and wireless. It must be set to wireless. Contact me if you have further questions.
