The Shape BP0007 V-Lock Quick Release Base Plate features a removable shoulder pad and underneath it both 1/4" and 3/8" threads for mounting a tripod. Accordingly, this base plate can be used shoulder-mounted or tripod-mounted. To use it shoulder-mounted, you'd just need to add Shape's HAND10 handles, which would lock into rosette adapters at the front of the base plate. The shoulder pad is attached by touch fasteners.
The plate is built sturdy and is designed for larger cameras, like the Alexa, the C300 and beta broadcast cameras. 8-inch rods are attached at the front of the plate and 4-inch rods at the rear. Those in front are mainly intended for a follow focus and matte box and are adjustable vertically to two different positions to accommodate different lens heights. Both the front and rear rods are 15mm in diameter. Per the addition of Shape's 19mm Studio Adjustable Rod Block, you can instead of the 15mm rods install 19mm studio rods.
The plate also supports the attachment of one of two quick-release tripod adapters -- Sony's VCT-14 and Panasonic's SHAN-TM700, for each of which the plate has a v-lock delta adapter on its underside. For the Sony, the adapter is underneath where the front rods connect and for the Panasonic, underneath where the rear rods connect. Either one you attach will fit perfectly along the length of the baseplate (not including the length of the rods).
