Very lightweight. Projector is pretty nifty on a white wall...works reasonably well with dim ambient light. On-Line downloading software was relatively easy to use. However our computer has had a crash since installation, not sure if it is related, but we haven't had a serious crash before. I allowed the computer to perform a complete checkdisk and CAN NOT verify if this was related issue or not. We lost no data so everything is fine.
When I first turned on the camera I had no idea how amazing the quality was until I actually replayed the images on my 60" HD TV. I am an artist and was looking for a good camera to help me document my process in creating my sculptures and installations. I was completely blown away by how steady the picture was compared to the other models I have tested. I have tested this camera outdoors and in very low light and it truly performs. I am very happy to find that Sony is focusing on making technology that truly competes and separated itself from the smartphones that are out there. This camera truly reminds us why it is important and worthwhile to spend money on good quality products. I feel that Sony truly stepped up on this one. The price is just icing on the cake. I have had a good quality handheld cam corder from a reputable manufacturer from Japan but this new Sony HD Handycam device is easier to use and the picture qualiity appears far better This could be a matter of new technology eclipse the old but it seems more simple to use and more sophisticated as well The zoom lens has a very good response and image stability and image quality My first impression is that this is a very good device for the average person to use with ordinary day to day recording, the only caveat is to remember to select the HD video or, the MP4 video for a recording format, The MP4 is for things like Facebook and other social networking sites
