The back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor delivers excellent low-light performance, while Optical SteadyShot image stabilization cuts down on camera shake to deliver beautiful, blur-free footage in unsteady scenarios. • The high-contrast projector built-in to the LCD panel gives you the freedom to share your favorite memories virtually anywhere. With 13 lumens of brightness, this projector is powerful enough to project up to 100"diagonally

  • The 2.7" (16:9) Clear Photo LCD (230K) displays sharp, bright, vivid images, letting you compose a shot more easily - even outdoors, while enabling you to change settings to best represent the scene
  • Store your memories in a whole new way with the ability to copy videos from your camcorder directly to an external hard disk drive13 (sold separately), all without a computer
  • The high-speed, built-in USB 2.0 cable allows for easy connection to your computer for charging or file transfer without having to remember separate cables. It also fits conveniently into the hand strap so it's out of the way until you need it
  • Intelligent Auto mode goes a step beyond traditional auto modes by analyzing your shot and then automatically selecting the appropriate settings from ten distinct scene modes and wind noise reduction

Lighter than expect and very easy to use

Very lightweight. Projector is pretty nifty on a white reasonably well with dim ambient light. On-Line downloading software was relatively easy to use. However our computer has had a crash since installation, not sure if it is related, but we haven't had a serious crash before. I allowed the computer to perform a complete checkdisk and CAN NOT verify if this was related issue or not. We lost no data so everything is fine.

Great Camera

When I first turned on the camera I had no idea how amazing the quality was until I actually replayed the images on my 60" HD TV. I am an artist and was looking for a good camera to help me document my process in creating my sculptures and installations. I was completely blown away by how steady the picture was compared to the other models I have tested. I have tested this camera outdoors and in very low light and it truly performs. I am very happy to find that Sony is focusing on making technology that truly competes and separated itself from the smartphones that are out there. This camera truly reminds us why it is important and worthwhile to spend money on good quality products. I feel that Sony truly stepped up on this one. The price is just icing on the cake. Look for my videos coming soon @

handycam quality

I have had a good quality handheld cam corder from a reputable manufacturer from Japan but this new Sony HD Handycam device is easier to use and the picture qualiity appears far better This could be a matter of new technology eclipse the old but it seems more simple to use and more sophisticated as well The zoom lens has a very good response and image stability and image quality My first impression is that this is a very good device for the average person to use with ordinary day to day recording, the only caveat is to remember to select the HD video or, the MP4 video for a recording format, The MP4 is for things like Facebook and other social networking sites
