Equipped with a powerful built-in projector, the one-of-a-kind Sony HDR-PJ580E High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Black) lets you capture video at Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and then play it back in 1080p, using the camera's built-in HD projector. The integrated projector gives you the means to instantly view your home movies on up to a 100" diagonal screen without any cables or connections. Besides shooting and projecting video, this camcorder can take 20.4 megapixel still images as well. The HDR-PJ580E stores your footage on 32GB of embedded flash memory, which supports up to eleven hours of recording. Plus, you can expand the storage capacity by using up to a 64GB memory card.

Sony outfitted the HDR-PJ580E with a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS imaging sensor that thrives in low-light situations. In order to ensure high-quality imaging, Sony used their wide angle "G" Lens, which supports a 12x optical zoom and 20x extended zoom. The camera also features a 3.0" Xtra Fine LCD touch screen display with TruBlack technology. Having an LCD display makes recording easier and it also allows for instant playback right on the convenient touch screen. Plus, Sony's TruBlack technology promotes ultra high-contrast on the LCD for viewing the display under direct sunlight.

The HDR-PJ580E comes outfitted with several record enhancing features as well. It has Face Detection with voice enhancement and noise reduction. There's a Tracking Focus function that follows elected subjects as you record. The dynamic microphone features 5.1 Dolby Digital surround for immersive and vivid surround sound. The camcorder also has Intelligent Auto, which supports 180 different scene combinations. There's even a wind noise reduction function that provides clear voice recording.

Sony added a few playback and connection conveniences as well. The HDR-PJ580E features Event Browse, which groups video and stills by each particular recording session automatically. It also has a Highlight Playback function that creates movies with transitions and soundtracks for you automatically. With the HDR-PJ580E, you can use the Direct Copy feature to transfer your HD footage directly to a hard drive without even using a PC. However, if you do want to upload videos onto Facebook and YouTube, the camcorder comes with a built-in USB cable, as well as editing and application software.
