I've had this device for just over a week. Spent the weekend watching both movies and sports. Messed around with the multiple sound options ie. We have hard wood floors and a 14 foot ceiling... fills the room without an echo.

Well, where to start? Guess I'll come clean up front and state that this was a gift that I neither wanted or needed. Nonetheless I got it for Christmas anyway. Once I got it home my jaw dropped at the thought that a two speaker system such as this comes with a remote. Exactly what America needs: ANOTHER #$%&* REMOTE IN THE LIVING ROOM TO GET LOST BETWEEN SEAT CUSHIONS. What super genius at Sony thought that it would be a good idea to include a remote control so that your speakers can control your TV instead of the other way around as it should be? Anyway I sat down and read the instructions before I unwrapped a single piece of equipment. I’ve put together numerous computer systems together as well as set up modern televisions and stereos before, so I thought that this would be a breeze. I then walked over to begin the process of connecting it all together and this is where it stopped. It was supposed to come with three different audio cables. but there was only the one optical cable. One was bad enough to be sure. I tried for 90 minutes to get that stupid optical cable to fit in either the TV or the even stupider sound bar. No such luck there. Not only could I not get the optical cable into either tv or sound bar but the input into the sound bar was on the far right. Naturally this was the exact opposite side from the TV connection. The cable was barely able to reach which is moot anyway since I couldn't get the cable to fit the holes as it is. You’d think that they would have placed the inputs in the middle of the bar but that probably made too much sense. This was made worse by the fact that everything was black. Black cable to black holes in black appliance inside a black cubby hole that you can barely get you fingers into in an area of the living room that doesn't receive much light to begin with. If you thought that USB cables are a piece of engineering hubris in terms of real world use then optical cable connectors will make your head smoke as to how utterly ridiculous the design for this thing is. After being unable to connect the optical cable and missing the other two cables that were supposed to come with it, I threw in the towel. I’ll never know how good the sound was on this thing and quite frankly I don’t care. It is one sound bar and a sub woofer Sony. Not a mission to Mars. I don’t need a remote, LED readout, or hard to see and even harder to insert connections. This is going back ASAP.

Best BANG for your buck!

By

I bought this for my parents. They have never experienced a soundbar before and this one is a great one to start with. It is a 2.1 Surround Sound bar that has a bunch of great features. It has HDMI, Optical, and 3.5mm Audio In. And as an added bonus....BLUETOOTH! Also the included subwoofer is....WIRELESS!!!! This sound bar has some great sound and it simulates Surround Sound really well. Great buy!

10 out of 10! Excellent Sound!

By

I have a Sony Bravia 60" LED and Sony Bluray player. I got this sound bar so everything I have would be Sony. Installs in 3 mins or less. Easy single plug hookup. Can also control my TV from sound bar remote. I couldn't ask for a better quality product. Works absolutely perfect for my setup and gives you complete, pure, movie quality sound and bass for a very very fair price. I would recommend to anyone wanting great sound with only a "good sound" money budget. 10 out of 10! In my opinion it's a must have.

Finally

By

Finally, sound to match the picture quality of my new LED. I just picked up a new LED T.V. and the picture was great, but the sound was lousy!!!! So i started looking at soundbars and chose the HT-CT260, It was easy to set up (15 min) the sound is great, the unit looks good, the only con is the little Optical cable that comes with it. Its not long enough for anything. Other than that im very happy with it.

This is the ONE

By

If your looking at sound bars, like me you've decided you don't want to loose the real estate around your LED TV, or the wife has threatened to place the wires and speakers in an inappropriate place. Problem solved the CT260 is easy to connect and will rock your world. SONY's S Force works, to create room filling sound better than brand V or S. Plus with Bluetooth pairing my tablet, phone and PC can stream directly to it.

Very Nice Product

By

Nice Product, very easy to set up and use. Purchased for my older 60 inch TV that started having speaker problems. Great solution for my issue at a very resonable price. Bluetooth although not a deal breaker for me is nice to have. Sound is better than I would expect from a soundbar. Seems very well made, for under $300 you cannot go wrong. Many people complain about optical cable included being short, it is 3 ft but wasn't a problem for me as I connected to my direct tv box that is to the side of the bar. If you are connecting directly to TV will most likely be a problem but you can pick up a 6 ft cable for around $12 if you look around.

I hook this up myself in about 15 minutes. The sub woofer is so realistic my little dog was scared of the sound so I had to move it Yes another remote isn't exactly the best idea but I can live with in order to get such great sound Would buy it again

Use the sound bar w/ our 60" Plasma TV in our living room. Works great to have the wireless Sub Woofer in the back of the room. Would recommend.
