I bought this recorder to record song ideas immediately. I like it because it's a desktop unit with large buttons+large lce, has a bigger and louder speaker than thhe regular voice recorder. Suggested Improvemnts: 1- Higher rec quality options, although to get ideas on the spot mp3 it's fine 2- The "divide" button included in the other recorders would be really handy to clean up a recording afterwards 3-I would probably have the mics in front instead of the back. If I'm facing the unit and want a better recording, II'll have to turn the unit around everytime. Having said that, It's not a major issue, and I'm fine the way it is. Plus I have the option of connecting an external mic. Sweet! 3- Would like to see Usb, but that will increase the cost. Again, it's not a big deal to get the SD card out, attach it the card reader on your PC, and transfer my files to the computer. Although I use it for songwriter, it's so versatile for so many other applications. At least, I think every songwriter should have one or two. Or, alternatively, this desktop for home use and a thinner one to carry with you, wherever you go. It's defenitelly worth it.
