Sony XBA-3IP 3-Driver In-Ear with iPod/iPhone Remote with 4-28000 Hz Frequency Response

I purchased these headphones after researching earbuds on Goldenears.net (shameless site promotion I know but I always encourage others to research the measurements of a product rather than only user reviews) and they are definitely high quality. The measurements on these are almost the best of the Sony balanced armature line (they are nearly identical to the xba-4s which are a supposed step up from these and according to golden ears the xba-h series is not worth considering. This is entirely based on the golden ears measurements which I sometimes disagree with but any headphones/earbuds that meaure well also sound great) and they stand up to all my other headphones (AKG K551, Beyerdynamic Dt 990 pro, Sennheiser HD 380, and Sony xba-1s which I would only recommend as an inexpensive alternative to these as they are noticeably worse). At prices of 200$ and above they are a mixed bag but any less and they are great headphones for blocking out noise with a very "fun" V-shaped sound signature full of detail and bass. I hope this helps any others as serious about audio as I am and it might be worth looking at golden ears to see if the frequency response suits your tastes (some people dislike bright and or bassy headphone/earphones like these but I can't live without them).

Bought in Oct 2013, developed a fault in August 2014 "Uneconomic" for Sony to repair, therefore I'd suggest uneconomic for anyone to buy

sound really good,even better than xba4 i think since i had one before.price is very good cuz bought it on sale time.the only con is that wearing experience is a little strange than my other sony earbuds,and i don't know why
