About Sony XBA-4

The Sony XBA-4 in-ear headphones boast a total of four Balanced Armature driver units (a full range driver, tweeter, woofer and super woofer) to deliver an incredibly balanced spectrum of crisp, radiant highs and deep, breathtaking bass.

With four sizes of hybrid silicone and three sizes of noise isolating ear cushions included, you can choose the best fit for your ears to maximize overall sound quality and comfort.

Sony XBA-4 Features

  • Sound Story: Compared to conventional Dynamic drivers, Balanced Armature drivers produce a broad and even frequency response with notable vocal clarity. Sony Balanced Armature drivers are tuned for higher or lower frequency response and combined to emphasize certain sound characteristics
  • Wearing Comfort: The ultra-compact design of Balanced Armature (BA) in-ear headphones provides a natural fit inside the ear, resulting in better, long-term comfort
  • Noise Attenuation: Noise isolation earbuds (Included: Small, Medium and Large) not only provide an outstanding fit, but also utilize pressure relieving urethane foam to further reduce ambient noise
  • Balanced Armature Driver: Experience audio ecstasy with 4 newly developed micro-size driver units (full-range + tweeter + woofer + super woofer). No matter what your favorite genre, a dynamic performance, transparent staging and vivid clarity are par for the course
  • Noise Blocking Design: Sony Balanced Armature (BA) in-ear headphones provide a comfortable fit that also results in significantly lower sound leakage levels both in or out, allowing you uninterrupted access to your music
  • Double Layer Housing: A special, high strength magnesium inner housing provides the necessary rigidity for smooth frequency response while an ABS outer housing suppresses vibrations for clear mid-high frequency sound reproduction. The result is a total, complete audio performance
  • Secure Fit: Hybrid silicone earbuds, in 4 sizes, allow for a tailored fit that further maximizes overall sound quality and comfort

Astonished!!!

By

from Athens, Greece

Recently I bought Sony XBA-i4 (the XBA-4 made for i - devices) in ear headphones in my quest to find the best in ear headphones. I heard the same tracks I always to compare headphones... A revelation!!! The piano was a real piano, all instruments were real instruments and the human voice was warm and moist in all frequencies. I heard from Jazz to Pop to opera to instrumentals... It was like I heard new recordings without the muddling and the cloud .. The 4 balanced armature drivers (tweeter, bass, super bass and full spectrum) gave a wide sound stage with real presence of the orchestra without deficiencies in all frequencies... Definitively recommended!!!

Low durability

By

from Stockholm

I got this headphones in autumn 2012. Sound at the beginning was not impressive. That's not bad since all the headphones deliver their best quality after many hours of use. However XB4 never reached the quality of my old MDR-EX510LP. Both compared one to one on a daily basis. After six months of use (4 hours per day), the superiority of the MDR-EX510LP was clear. I really wanted the XB4 to sound better than the EX510 (because they cost 700% more). However they didn't and then last week the right earphone started to sound less and less until it finally died. I'm getting used to the idea that nowadays Sony products are low quality ones. :(

Great Earbuds!

By

from Laredo, TX

Just received the XBA-4 earbuds for Christmas. The sound quality for this earbud is excellent and in my opinion is better then some noise cancelling headphones on the market. I have not listened to the XBA-1, 2, or 3 yet, but the XBA-4 provides good highs and a warm bass - very happy with the sound quality. The overall size of these earbuds is large compared to other earbuds, but they are light weight and comfortable to use. For convience, Sony provided a carry case and a spool to reduce excess wire. The reason this earbud was purchased is due to previously using full size noise cancelling headphones that were a pain to use when traveling due to their excess size. Because of the bulk of full size headphones, I wanted a high quality earbud and the XBA-4 offers a nice alternative. Happy with the purchase.

Great Earphones

By

from Undisclosed

All around, these are very good earphones. The sound quality is outstanding and so is the bass. Design is compact as well. The price though is ridiculous and that is what takes the rating down to 4 stars. If $50 or $100 less, I would give this 5 stars. Still amazing earbuds!
