I've had my sounder for two years now and am very happy with it. I purchased my sounder after doing research on various brands and sounder models. I selected this Samsung soundbar due to the cost of the product and due to the glowing reviews about the quality. I didn't give the product a full five stars for two reasons: 1) The soundbar does not fully pair with my 2011 SmartTV UN46D8000 in that even though it is connected using Anynet+ it will not turn on with the TV but will turn off with the TV. I have to use the small remote that came with the soundbar to turn it on after I power on the TV. I've read similar reviews from others. This issue is annoying. 2) The setup of any of the soundbar features requires the use of the small remote that came with it. The settings display only comes up on the soundbar one line display and is cumbersome to navigate. Other than the two issues, I am very happy with the quality of the sound and it looks great with my stylish TV. It would be nice if Samsung would further develop the Anynet+ software to allow other Samsung connected devices to show their menu on the TV screen and more importantly fix the on/off issue.
No one may notice it ’cos it’s so slim and metallic silver blends well with TV but no one misses outstanding surround sound effect and output: gets everyone’s attention... Keep in mind, however, that after connecting TV and Receiver, you've used up all input sources. Also, controlling TV, Receiver, and Soundbar may need 3 separate remotes and at times switches to input (D.IN) source with no signal.
Most digital TV's these days need a soundbar. This unit is supposed to enhance the Samsung TV - it doesn't! The sound volume is great, but it is not a surround sound unit (despite promises). There is also no capacity to modify tweeter / bass functions. But, one can turn down the volume of the subwoofer. It is when connected to a Bluetooth compatible Samsung TV that extreme disappointment occurs. When one turns the TV on, it takes over 20 seconds for the volume to start on the soundbar. The length of the soundbar does not match any of their TV's on sale in Australia. You'd think that Samsung could offer soundbar extension caps so that the length (aesthetic) would match the TV.
