The 32GB Galaxy Note 10.1" Tablet from Samsung improves on the design of its predecessor. The chrome bezel has been removed to give the Galaxy Note 10.1 a more streamlined look. The removal of the chrome bezel also makes the Galaxy Note 10.1 narrower and slimmer. The glossy plastic back from the previous Galaxy Note has also been replaced with the polycarbonate "leather-like" texture, similar to the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. While the glossy plastic back of the previous version was a fingerprint magnet, the polycarbonate back of the Galaxy Note 10.1 not only masks fingerprints, but also provides a more reliable grip when holding it.
The most notable improvement of the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition is the screen. Samsung managed to squeeze a 2560 x 1600 native resolution into the 10.1" screen of the Galaxy Note. That's 299 pixels per inch (ppi), which results in sharper text and vibrant colors. The WQXGA TFT screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio isn't just for show either. It's also a capacitive touchscreen that supports multi-touch gestures incorporated into Android.
Samsung also improved the S-Pen functionality. The S-Pen now has metal ridges that make it easier to pull it out of its slot on the Galaxy Note 10.1. When you remove the S-Pen from its holster, the Galaxy Note 10.1 will detect it and pull up an Air Command menu. Borrowing from the S-Pen improvements found on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, the S-Pen can now use Air View, which allows you to hover over images or words and even click a button on the S-Pen to access a menu for additional options. This expands on the S-Pen's functionality and usefulness.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 also comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system installed. However, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system is customized by Samsung, adding their TouchWiz software to it. While this means that the icons, notifications and app menus may differ from the original Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, Samsung's version also adds a full suite of Samsung exclusive features, such as S Voice, Samsung's App Store, S Translator and more. My Magazine, a collaboration between Flipboard and Samsung, aggregates your social media networks, news outlets and entertainment interests into one easy-to-use interface. Simply swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to access it.
The system is powered by an Exynos 5420 octa-core chipset. The Exynos 5420 octa-core chipset is actually comprised of dual quad-core processors, which are the 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 quad-core processor and the 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 quad-core processor. The 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 is used for CPU-intensive apps while the 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 kicks in for casual use, such as checking email or web surfing. Unfortunately, both processors can't be used at the same time. The Galaxy Note 10.1 also has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of flash storage, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, a 2.0-megapixel front camera, an 8.0-megapixel rear camera and a micro-USB 2.0 port that also doubles as a universal charging port.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 10.1" is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 10.1": Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Easy to use, Fast, Inexpensive, Lightweight, Realistic color, S pen, S-pen and Stylus

What it can do for you

If you are considering purchasing a Tablet, there are a couple of things you need to consider. Are you buying for work, play? Quality or price? Performance or Design? I'm not going to tell you that this Tablet is the best for all of these categories. Truth be told, you can find a cheaper tablet for entertainment, and you can probably find a better tablet for work (though it will cost you almost double what the Note 10.1 2014 edition will). But if you want something that does both INCREDIBLY well, then buy the Note. It's screen is sharp and immersive , it's sound quality exceptional, and it runs videos and games without any flaw. There is nothing more you could want when it comes to entertainment. For productivity, it more than gets the job done. I use the Note daily. I take it to every meeting (and unlike I-pad users, I actually USE it at every meeting, for the full time instead of placing it on the table as a status symbol), I use it for church, I answer emails, type papers and memo's, and the list goes on and on. The Note feels great in the hand, and it looks great in the hand as well. It doesn't slip when I hold it without the case, and it is easy to navigate with or without the s-pen. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. The Note is not a cheap tablet. Not in price, or in components, but you are paying for more than a name. You are paying for a product that will last you a long time, and will be with you for anything and everything you need.

Mostly good - one deal breaker

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone and love it. I'm a bit of a geek - with three decades in computer software and related systems. I was eager to move away from a different manufacturer's tablet to the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Initially I was quite satisfied with the Note 10.1. The screen is beautiful, and after receiving numerous updates, the performance was smooth. I tried several applications, including video streaming, web browsing, and note-taking. All were within my expectations â€" save one. The deal breaker for me is very poor Bluetooth keyboard support. I intend to replace my existing tablet (which I use at work and home) with the Note 10.1. In order to support work activities, a keyboard is a must for me. I tried several keyboards and all of them suffered the same challenge with the Note 10.1: they would initially connect, then drop the connection every few seconds. These keyboards work fine with other devices, including my previous tablet and the Samsung Galaxy S4. After digging around the Internet, I've found that I'm not alone with this problem. This problem is endemic to the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. If you need to have a dependable Bluetooth keyboard connection, then this is not the tablet for you. I hope that Samsung can provide a fix â€" I’d love to keep this tablet.

The fact they have abandoned support for this note, and went with a 12 inch, and gave the 12 inch pro all the things they promised the 10.1 2014...is upsetting. This is the 2nd and last time I get burned by Samsung.
I have now owned this tablet for a couple of months. I consider the note line to be the premier tablets in the industry today. From note taking, web browsing and a media center it is unparralled in use and function. The screen is gorgeous and battery life acceptable for a high resolution tablet. Hook it up to a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you have an incredible work station available at your fingertips. Everything is smooth on this device from start up to shut down. This is the best tablet of 2014.
The S Pen and screen on the Note are way better than my iPad for drawing and painting. Only thing I wish was it were a little more powerful so it could handle larger files without lagging. But otherwise, I love it.
I purchased this tablet as I love my Galaxy Note phone and love the tablet as well. Set up was easy and quick. Fits in my purse and great camera as my phone. I am a happy consumer!
Needs a better power supply quad processor other than battery life and taking a charge this is the one of the best tablets instant have the opportunity to try the pro even though it's 12 inches I still like the 2014
Upgrade for me from earlier version. Very satisfied with new features for this version. It was very easy to register the new version and it automatically set up my new one with apps that I had on the earlier version. Samsung wants to please. I like the idea that I can sync my tablet with Media on my Windows computer via USB connection. Only been working with it for a few days, but I am very pleased that I made the upgrade.
I have 3 others and have had 2 more over the years - this is by far the overall best of all including the i-things.
I love this machine, very light and very easy to use, and with a great customer service
very great product, I bought two! product is perfect.
I work with a lot of different devices. This is a solid device with a lot of nice features. The screen gives a great picture and I very much enjoy watching movies through Flixster on it. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work great. I also appreciate the micro SD support. I have really just 2 issues with this device. The first is the lock of Hold switch. I don't like accidentally bumping it and changing my place in a movie. In fact, sometimes when I'm running (on a treadmill) sweat will fly up and land on the screen...which activates it. A hold button would stop that. The second is price. This is not a cheap device. Honestly, for the price you can get a laptop which is a consideration for a lot of folks.
