I now have two of these. I video many musical and party events and often use two or three camcorders. The small size of these tripods (extends from about 6 inches up to 12 inches) allows me to place my cameras in strategic locations without them blocking someone's view. My cameras weigh less than two pounds and these tripods have no problem holding them sturdily in the position I place them. Each of the three tripod legs are either compressed or fully extended - there is no mid-way position. If the surface upon which the tripod rests is not level, the tripod may tip over depending on the weight of the camera. Caution should also be used if using a camera heavier than 2 or 3 pounds or when using a long lens that may cause an unbalanced situation.
