About Sunpak

The Sunpak PRO 424MX Carbon Fiber 4-Section Monopod combines functionality and affordability to make it an ideal portable DSLR support for both serious amateurs and working professional photographers. The lightweight monopod features a load capacity of 15.4 lb, so it supports even the heaviest DSLR body/lens combinations. With its four sections fully extended, the PRO424MX reaches a maximum height of 56.3".

Constructed of seven-layer carbon fiber, the monopod weighs an almost-negligible 0.55 lb and retracts to 19.5", so it adds very little bulk to your travel pack. Despite its low profile, the full-size monopod offers professional features such as a neoprene leg warmer and user-adjustable flip locks for the four sections. The PRO 424MX mounts your camera via a standard 1/4"-20 threaded screw.

Sunpak Features

  • At 0.55 lb, among the lightest full-size, heavy-duty monopods
  • Neoprene leg warmer
  • Rubber-tipped foot

thin but looks good to me

Upon opening the box I was so surprised to see how thin this monopod is. Since I bought it for my assistant to use it with a attached flash and trigger I was skeptical that it would hold the weight. But upon testing it in house with the flash on it and swinging the setup around a bit, the monopod really does seem pretty sturdy. Its compact and ridiculously lightweight no doubt.

On the go support

Light weight but sturdy support; easily portable; would benefit from a stabilizer foot

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
FRANK V  I have the Sunpak carbon fiber tripod and I wanted a comparably functional monopod where I would be assured it would take my Pistol Grip Ball Head. Since its a Sunpak, the Sunpak pistol grip head will definitely fit.
Shopper  Is the foot removeable? If so, will it accept 1/4" screw?
DONALD H K  Yes the foot is removable, it is just friction fit on the hollow shaft. The shaft is not threaded but the hole is to large for a 1/4 thread.
