This stand-attachable switch basically gives you the ability to use the attached light at 100% or 50% output. You fasten the switch to your light stand, plug the light into the switch and plug the switch into an extension cord. The switch has Off, Low and High positions. Having the ability to dim your light to 50% gives you quick flexibility to control your light levels without having to move the light way back or insert scrims, etc. I have 4 of these little switches and use them on just about every shoot.
