About Swann

The Swann 8-Channel Camera Security Monitoring System is a state-of-the-art surveillance solution for round-the-clock monitoring of your home or office. This security package consists of an 8-channel DVR (D14 "Defend & Deter"), 4 C21 cameras and 4 theft-deterrent stickers.

The C21 camera can switch between color and B&W modes depending on ambient light that passes through the ICR (IR-Cut Filter). It is also equipped with 24 built-in IR LEDs that allow night vision up to 65' (20 m). The camera records clear and detailed videos at a resolution of up to 600 TVL thanks to the 1/3" SwannTruColor (STC) sensor.

The D14 DVR is pre-installed with 500 GB hard drive (expandable up to 2 TB) that can store more than 60 days of recording. It supports the H.264 video compression format, reducing video file sizes without compromising on the quality and integrity of images. With the SwannView application, you can view live video footage from anywhere in the world via broadband internet connection on your PC, Smartphone, or tablet. You can also transfer the recorded footage to a USB Flash drive or send it to a server via the Internet for backup or archiving.

Questions about this item:

john f  can i get a remote control for a 8 channel system?
HUBERT H  As far as I know you can only use the remote control for up to four cameras. This is a question that the manufacturer needs to answer as it depends on how the system is setup. Only four cameras can be attached to one monitor screen - do not know how that works out with remote controls though.
robert h  does it have motion activated capability?
Andrew R  Yes, I believe that this system offers motion activation.
Shopper  Is this system easy to install or will I need a professional?
EDWARD S  If you can connect setup a computer, plugging in all the wires where they are suppose to go, then for the most part yes.. its easy to setup. BUT if you are thinking of running all the wire throughout your home or business, that's a different animal. Generally, Id say the wiring and hooking this thing up to the internet for remote viewing are the hardest parts. Hope this helps.
