The Swann SWDVK-825508C Camera Security Monitoring System (8-Channel) consists of an 8-channel DVR8-2550 digital video recorder and 8 ADS-180 day/night cameras. Featuring a 500GB hard drive (supports up to 2TB), the DVR8-2550 supports up to D1 resolution and frame rates of up to 120 fps (combined). It features manual, motion and schedule recording modes and supports multiplex operation. Recorded videos are stored in H.264 format that helps reduce video file sizes without compromising on the quality and integrity of images. Videos are watermarked with date and time for authentication purposes.

Recorded videos can be viewed locally, over the internet or on a 3G smartphone (using the 'SwannView' app). You can transfer the recorded video to a flash drive via the USB port, or send it to a server using the network interface. UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) technology allows the DVR to be automatically configured to a router (having UPnP capability). The DVR can be controlled using a mouse or by remote control. Power is drawn from a 12 VDC power supply.

The ADS-180 day/night camera, featuring a 1/4" Super CMOS color sensor and 6mm lens, delivers enhanced quality imagery at resolutions up to 400 TVL. It is equipped with 30 IR LEDs that have 10,000 hours of shelf-life and provide a viewing range of 33 feet (10m). Minimum Illumination of 0 lux helps provide clear images even in low-light conditions.

Automatic Gain Control adjusts the signal strength to maintain a constant brightness level. Backlight Compensation adjusts video gain to correct the exposure when the object being captured is in front of a bright light. With the Day/Night mode, the camera automatically switches between color and B&W according to changes in ambient lighting. The camera features a rugged aluminum and ABS plastic construction and draws power from a 12 VDC power supply.
