Mission Accomplished

By

As a serious amateur landscape photographer, I find this lens to be an excellent choice. It yields razor sharp imagery with extreme depth of field on my D800E. This lens is one of the best price to value propositions on the market today.

Disappointing star images

By

from Granite Gap, New Mexico  -  Photo Enthusiast

I had read good reviews of this lens for my hobby, astrophotography. However, my lens clearly had something wrong. The stars were quite good in the center, and also good toward one edge of the frame, but toward the opposite edge, star images became flared to a horrible degree. There was no way to focus the lens to get around this. Clearly, one of the elements was either mounted improperly in the lens I received, or was made wrong. I gave up on this lens and, quite literally, deposited it in the trash. I know others have had better luck, and I've seen good star images from others, but my lens was, quite simply, defective. I do have another lens (85mm)from this manufacturer, and it delivers good stellar images across the field, but this one was not useable.

Razor Sharp, and Excellent Price!

By

from Illnois, chicago  -  Photo Enthusiast

It is a razor sharp lens, and the fact that it's a manual focus is very forgiving once you learn your ways to go about it. Plus, it is what makes this lens amazing value for money. I cannot say enough this lens has been one of my favorites. I use this lens for shooting landscape, and it has been producing exceptional-quality photos. It also works perfectly well in other types of shooting situations, so I tend depend on this lens a lot. Yes, focusing is always challenging, since it's "manual," but if you are a photographer who can handle it, go for it, and you are going to be more than satisfied for sure.

Unbeatable price-quality ratio

By

from Switzerland  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This lens is a gem ! Sharpness, focus range, ease of use, compatibility, and also very low distortion, why pay more to get something less performing ? I own more than 30 different lenses for my D4, and this one rank in the top league.
