The Force 10 delivers a true 1000Ws of power. This light output is greater than other monolights rated at 1800 and 2000Ws! The fan cooled monolight can operate at 4 or 5 frames per second at low power levels. Audible and visual ready indications at 100% recycle are provided. With normal reflectors (the Force 10 accepts all Speedotron light control accessories), it has a lighting range of 8 f-stops, variable in 1/3 or 1/6 stop increments. Using the same innovative focusing ring as the Black Line 202VF and 206VF light units.
Packed with power and the latest in digital technology, the Force Series Monolights deliver the performance, versatility and reliability needed for commercial applications and digital imaging. Features include a single dial control for flash and model lamp intensity; microcomputer circuitry for precise light output and thermal management; and internal discharge circuits for quick, accurate power changes. A high sensitivity slave allows multiple Force units to be used without interconnecting cables. The Speedotron Force Series Monolights are backed by a 2-year warranty, with an optional Plus-3 Protection Plan available.

I was very impressed with the power of these lights, I was shooting food at the lowest power and was at 16 WOW..., the problem I had was the slave is unbelievability poor I had the lights no more than 6ft apart and the slave did not work...I mean did not work! this is not what we need. I had a old slave from 100 years ago, I had to use to fix this in the middle of a shoot. So now I need to get a second receiver (pocketwizard) don't get me wrong the light and ease of use are GREAT but the slave is USELESS so when you need more than one get another receiver
I'm primarily a location fashion photographer, shooting for over 30-years. A number of years ago, I used Speedo packs because they were the fastest recycling strobes on the market. As my work shifted from half and half studio/location to primarily location, I ditched my Speedo packs and went with monolights. At first I used Hensel Integras, then White Lightning and Alien Bees, and now I've come full circle. Though the Force 10 is heavy compared to those other units, it's far more durable and has more than twice the recycle speed and the same power setting. I've gone back to Speedotrons because though the Force 10 is heavy, it's very well built and can withstand the rigors of shipping via FedEx (which consistently trashes my other strobes, though packed in Pelican cases).
This is a quality built monolight. It's heavy duty and pro rated and has not failed me to date and it's been 2 years since shooting with mine. The fans are quiet. Uses the same accessories as the Speedo Blackline heads, so you easily rent softboxes and accessories for it if need be.
