Works tremendously
Provides more light on the subject than the standard reflector that comes with the speedotron 206 flash head.. resulting in softer light, and less power needed per pop.
Only knock is the central diffuser rests awfully close to the flash bulb, even when adjusting how far you screw in the retaining ring / mounting ring upon which you attach the beauty dish. The result is a mild burning smell from time to time when you pump 4800 w/s through the flash. It may result in damage over time.
The BD also came with a few scuffs along it's rim fresh out of the box, but I didn't really care, I'm not looking for a museum piece or shelf queen. I'm probably going to scratch and ding it in the future, inevitable with all my strobe gear, and I'm not exactly careless.
Overall, I'm very happy. It helps with the collodion wet plates in particular.
