About Tenba DNA 15

Tenba DNA 15 Messenger Bag is designed to provide the kind of year-round, all-weather, rugged performance demanded by New York City bike messengers, but with an interior that's tuned to protect delicate cameras, lenses and computer gear. A new tapered front flap combined with a sewn hinge ensures easy closure and excellent coverage at the corners. For additional wet weather protection, the bag includes a removable and reversible WeatherWrap cover that's silver on one side to reflect the heat and black on the other side for a bit more stealth and subtlety at night.

To prevent the bag from sliding forward while riding a bicycle or scooter, an adjustable security strap connects to D-rings on the back of bag which anchor it in position behind you. Fidlock patented magnetic clips allow blind, drop-on attachment and a fast unique slide release. This is the quickest clip in the world. The DNA 15 was built to accommodate a professional DSLR with 2-3 lenses. The rear padded sleeve will hold a laptop up to 15 inches and a second sleeve will protect an iPad or similar sized tablet.

Tenba DNA 15 Features

  • Adjustable security strap connects to D-rings on the back of bag, anchoring it in position behind you and preventing the bag from sliding forward while riding a bicycle or scooter
  • Quick Access zipper lets you securely swap out cameras and lenses without opening the front flap and exposing an entire camera system to prying eyes in unfamiliar or dangerous locations
  • Tapered front flap with a sewn hinge ensures easy closure and excellent weatherproof coverage at the corners
  • Included WeatherWrap rain cover is removable and reversible, with silver on one side to reflect the heat and black on the other side for a bit more stealth and subtlety at night

  • Removable padded camera insert protects a mirrorless camera system with 3-5 lenses, or a DSLR with 2-3 lenses. It will fit a DSLR with an attached 24-70mm 2.8 lens
  • The padded camera insert slides out to convert the bag for general-purpose, non-photo use
  • Rear padded sleeve fits an iPad or similar sized tablet, or a laptop up to 11 inches (such as MacBook Air). A velcro retaining strap covers the sleeve for security
  • Rear trolley strap slides over the extending handle of a rolling suitcase or equipment case for secure and convenient piggyback travel
  • Tenba's exclusive heavy-duty tarpaulin bottom panel is water and abrasion resistant. This protects the bag if you have to put it down on a wet and/or dirty surface and is easy to wipe clean

Holds the big stuff

I bought this bag for several reasons. First I like a camera bag that doesn't look like a camera bag. I do this as a hobby and can't replace items if stolen. Second I wanted to be able to grab my Canon 7D (with grip) and attached 70-200 2.8 vertically out of the bag and shoot. This bag does it with room for a 24-105 f4, flash and 2x converter with room to spare. Third I don't like backpacks. Last the sumo in the ad makes me look skinny and I am all for that. I have not used it enough to comment on durablity yet. Will try to update after outdoor track season and with the weather now I will surly put it though a lot.

This bag is very well designed and a great value. I'm able to hold my 5D mk2 w/24-105 lens, 70-200 lens, flash and small tripod along with my ipad or 15" laptop. The magnetic clasps are cool. The top zipper access is very convenient you can access your gear without lifting the flap. Plus it has extra zipper pockets. The insert can also be removed to turn the bag into a regular messenger bag. A great value compared to other bags.

Questions about this item:

Scott A  Does it truly hold a dslr with power grip attached and an attached 70-200 2.8 lens? Is there still room for additional lens safely? Any picture of this set up?
AMY P  Hello Scott, I do not have a 70-200mm, but I got out a ruler and measured 8 inches (length of Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR II) and added the camera to that. The bag can hold the camera in an upright position with this lens. The bag might not be able to close very tightly (I have mine strapped tightly to allow minimal movement), but you could close it to a normal distance. Now adding a battery grip will make the setup a little more tight, but I believe it would be doable. If the battery grip is not on all the time the setup is very doable. Adding an extra lens maybe 2 and a few other accessories would be quite easy with this setup. My setup right now is my camera body with no lens attached, 1 smaller lens and 1 medium sized lens. All have there own pocket and I still have room for possibly 2 more lenses if I don't have multiple items such as a flash or bulky accessories. Hopefully someone with this type of equipment could answer your question, but I hope my information helped. The bag is awesome and my favorite feature is the quick access zipper, it comes in very helpful at times. -Peter
