About Tiffen 52 Circular Polarizer

Polarizer filters give you several key creative features.

They evenly increase color saturation of all colors (except black and white), creating deep, rich scenics.

They add contrast for dramatic skies and ariel shots.

They eliminate the whitish glare from highly reflected surfaces like glass and water.

Polarizers are two part lenses that rotate, allowing you to select the degree of additional saturation, contrast and glare reduction desired.

Tiffen polarizers are offered in standard and warm versions. Warm polarizers add Tiffen's exclusive 812 warming filter, giving portraits and scenics a warm and muted feel while retaining rich coloration.

Polarizes come in two types:

Circular -- for all types of cameras: required for beam splitting metering systems commonly found in auto-focus SLR's and in most curretn TTL Slr's.

Linear -- for older metering systems.

Tiffen polarizers are available in the follow variations:

Standard Linear.

Standard Circular.

Warm Circular -- polarizer plus 812 warming filter.

Wide Angle Circular -- a thin filter designed to avoid vignetting at the edges from larger wide angle lenses.

The Tiffen 52 Circular Polarizer is commonly used for Color correction, Image manipulation, Lens protection and more. The Tiffen 52 Circular Polarizer is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Casual photographer, Enthusiast, Photo enthusiast among others. The Tiffen 52 Circular Polarizer is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Tiffen 52 Circular Polarizer: Clear optics, Consistent effect, Easily mounted, Easy to use, Firm mount and Strong construction

CP for Landscapes

By

I love to take pictures of waterfalls and streams. A CP filter is a critical piece of the puzzle to getting good shots. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a good filter. This product will meet most of your needs.

Tiffen Circular Polarizer Filter

By

I wanted a reasonably priced polarizing filter and have been told by others to select these made by Tiffen. I'm an amateur photographer learning a new hobby and this will be of great use to me as I live in AZ where sunshine is very much a huge consideration for outdoor photography. Haven't found anything that isn't great about it.

GOOD PRODUCT

By

I RECEIVED MY NIKON D5100 CAMERA FROM ADORAMA...THE POLARIZER FILTER WAS IN THE BOX AND WAS SUGGESTED BY THE ADORAMA SALES REP OVER THE PHONE AS I DID NOT KNOW WAHT TO ORDER..I AM GLAD I LISTENED TO HIM ...THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WHEN EVERYTHING ARRIVED WAS HOW WELL THE ITEMS WERE PACKED WITH LOTS OF BUBBLE WRAP, ECT. THE BOX ITSELF WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING (UPS FAULT)..BUT THE CAMERA AND ACCESSORIES WERE VERY PROTECTED. WHEN I GOT THE CAMERA OUT ..IT LOOKED LIKE A BRAND NEW CAMERA AND CAMERA SUPPLES (MEMORY CARD, FILTERS, ECT) WERE ALL NEW AND PACKAGING IN GREAT CONDITION...I WAS VERY IMPRESSED SEEING THIS IS THE FIRST REFURBISHED CAMERA I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. WHEN I CHECKED THE ACTUATIONS ON IT I WAS IMPRESSED THAT IT WAS A LITTLE LESS THAN 500. MY WHOLE EXPEREINCE WITH THIS CAMERA PURCHASE AND ADORAMA WAS VERY PLEASANT. I HAD CALLED THE ORDER IN AND THE GUY THAT TOOK IT GAVE ME VERY GOOD TREATMENT AND LOTS OF HELPFUL ADVICE.,

Quality at a reasonable price.

By

Used for landscape and lake photography. Lens removes the haze and produces a clear blue sky. The glare on the water surface was completely eliminated in most photos.

Makes the clouds pretty!

By

It's a good filter! I did not screw it on well (a bit of a problem to attach but probably the same with all filters) and lost it, but bought another. (Problem was most probably my carelessness) It really helps in landscapes and clouds - makes blue skies blue.

Questions about this item:

larry k  will thi work with a olympus is-20 35mm film camera?
KURTIS L  If your Olympus lens is threaded for accepting 52mm filters. Then the cilcular polarizer will work on the lens. It's a great filter
Shopper  Im fairly new to filters and what they do, I would like a filter to take pictures of sunsets and what not. Could someone explain to me how the number 52mm correlates with something like a 18mm-55mm lens or a 75mm-300mm lens? Does it fit on these lenses, is there a special filter I need? Thanks c:
BEN T  The "52mm" relates to the size of the front of the lens and has nothing to do with the focal length. So it works equally well with either of those noted or any others which it will fit on. Digital cameras require a rotatory polarizing filter. A graduated density filter may be useful for landscapes such as sunsets.
