About Tiffen

These filters reduce the amount of light passing through the camera lens without changing the color of the scene. They are especially useful in bright light conditions to help prevent overexposure. Neutral Density filters also allow proper exposure at a wider lens opening for reduced depth-of-field to highlight a key subject by making the foreground and/or background out of focus.

Worst ND filter I have used!

Well I bought this item to put on a 50mm f/1.8 lens so I can use it outdoor with a low f/stop and still sync my flash at 1/250s. But when I took it outside for the first time I noticed that it makes greens a horrible ugly brown color. Now this can be solved by shooting .RAW and messing with PSR but I didnt spend $15 for more work.... My cheap [...] ND filter from a year ago works better than this one! Tiffen .9 ND filter

By

from Escondido, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

Any ND filter is good to have. I was disappointed with this one only because it was sold to me as an 8stop, which it's not. More like a 2 or 3 stop. I was able to double it up with one that I already had, but it still doesn't give me the 8 to 10 stop that I'm looking for. Sales guys at Adorama are just that, unfortunate.

Fun Filter

I use this filter to capture water in motion with longer shutter speed. I was able to capture milky water with 10 second shutter on bright day. Definatly worth having and at such a great price.
