About Tiffen

Safeguard your lens and absorb UV light. Film and video are more sensitive to UV light than our eyes are. This often shows up as a bluish cast in images, especially shots from high altitudes and long distances, particularly over water. Ultra Violet filters are available in a variety of UV absorption levels.

Decent

A welcome addition for all your lenses. Provides a little protection, does not degrade image quality, and provides moderate haze reduction.

Thread Problem

I thought I would give this filter a try because it is less expensive than the B&W UV filters I usually get. Of the two I bought, the threads do not work on one; it will start to thread, get very stiff, then pop out - it feels like the filter may be out of round. The other filter works fine on the same lens, as do my B&W filters, so I know it's a problem with the filter, not the lens. In my opinion, a 50% failure rate is unacceptable. Since I would lose money on postage, I will not be sending...

Better results!

I used my Tiffen Haze filter to shoot some photos of thw White Tank Mountains in Arizona recently. There was a slight overcast on that day so I shot before and after photos in the same location.I was very pleased with the results after attaching the Haze Filter to my 18-55mm Canon lens.

Quality when it counts

Quality glass filter, when attached, keeps dust off lense glass, even in midst of dust storm. Protects from incidental blows to front of lens.
