Polarizer filters give you several key creative features.
They evenly increase color saturation of all colors (except black and white), creating deep, rich scenics.
They add contrast for dramatic skies and ariel shots.
They eliminate the whitish glare from highly reflected surfaces like glass and water.
Polarizers are two part lenses that rotate, allowing you to select the degree of additional saturation, contrast and glare reduction desired.
Tiffen polarizers are offered in standard and warm versions. Warm polarizers add Tiffen's exclusive 812 warming filter, giving portraits and scenics a warm and muted feel while retaining rich coloration.
Polarizes come in two types:
Circular -- for all types of cameras: required for beam splitting metering systems commonly found in auto-focus SLR's and in most curretn TTL Slr's.
Linear -- for older metering systems.
Tiffen polarizers are available in the follow variations:
Warm Circular -- polarizer plus 812 warming filter.
Wide Angle Circular -- a thin filter designed to avoid vignetting at the edges from larger wide angle lenses.
Note! Tiffen wide-angle filters have low profile rings to prevent vignetting which can occur when using standard filters on ultra wide angle lenses. They do not have a front thread, and can not accept standard snap on lens caps.
The Tiffen 72 Circular Polarizer is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Photo enthusiast among others. The Tiffen 72 Circular Polarizer is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Tiffen 72 Circular Polarizer: Clear optics, Firm mount and Strong construction

I use this to protect an expensive lens. It does not interfere with color in my images.

Not quite as expected.
I bought this to use on my Zuiko 16-60 lens because the specs stated this filter would not vignette on a wide-angle lens. Sorry, not true - it vignettes. I'm not a happy camper. Expected better.

I wasn't able to give this product much time to evaluate its intended purpose. My initial reaction was that it seemed to do the job but without any wow factor. The filter also is difficult to use with a lens hood attached but that's proably true for all filters. The real problem was that the filter jammed immediately and I couldn't remove it from the lens. I took it in to Adorama and they removed the filter for me and readily accepted it as a return.
When shooting outdoors with water in the picture, this filter makes all your shots BETTER! didn't realize until this summer how much it would improve things.
I purchased this for my Sigma 17-70 lens. I have one for my kit 18-55 and have been very happy with it. Have not used the new one much but so far it performs as well as expected.
I use the filter for shooting in bright sun to stop glare and reflections
For the price it does what it is suppoed to do. Used it in Joshua Tree national park. Kept the sky blue and reflections to a minimum.
Not a bad polarizer. Reccomend it if you want to boost saturation and the 'pop' of clouds in the sky. Does a good job with glare and water reflections.
Great to use in those clear blown out skies when they look so drab.
All my filters are Tiffin!
Takes the shine out adds color in.This is good.
