I know use of filters is controversial these days, with many stating the potential problems with image quality outweighing the benefits. I guess I am old school, I still think that a filter is a lot less expensive than a lens, and I'm enough of a klutz that I am likely to touch or smear or something to a lens. It's a lot easier to take off a filter and clean it. ND filters can be very useful with the very bright lenses CSC cameras often have. Polarizing filters also cannot really be mimicked by software. The Tiffen filters rarely cause image problems, have decent rims and threading, and a kit like this, with the UV in addition to the 2 mentioned above, is a good deal.
