About Tiffen 4x5.65"" Glimmerglass 3/I

The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Glimmerglass 3/IR Filter is a unique way to give your portrait subject a clean, fresh and flattering appearance. This creative diffusion filter reduces contrast while subtly minimizing the finer details in the shot. Highlights take on a mild glow. The purpose of this filter is not only to add a flattering appearance to the portrait but to give your subject more confidence during the shoot. Since the filter emanates a noticeable silver sparkle, when your subject sees that, he will believe the filter is working in his favor. This, in turn, will hopefully inspire him to give a better sitting during the session. The idea behind the Glimmerglass effect is a psychological one where the subject responds to the sparkle of the filter and, not necessarily, to the photographer.

Tiffen's T1 infrared component is a high-tech filter targeted towards eliminating infrared contamination at 680 nm. This filter will assist you in maintaining your color spectrum when shooting against a dark fabric. You will notice the blacks turn out true with no color cast from the red end of the spectrum. This filter has been created to help capture a much broader spectrum of color than previous infrared filters - particularly with digital camcorders. Color shift is a critical factor in digital photography especially when dealing with the infrared spectrum - and even more important when shooting with HD technology.

Water White glass, using Tiffen's ColorCore technology, is characterized by a high transmission quality. Typically, it will transmit 98-99% of the light. It also features an anti-glare and anti-reflective quality that makes it useful in a wide range of uses including the movie theater industry, store and art displays. The glass is virtually defect-free and is becoming more and more prevalent in digital equipment.
