I was looking for an all-in-one lens that would give the best of both worlds in a neat little package, wide-angle and zoom. This lens was pretty much what I was looking for. Although it would better if the wide-angle was a bit wider. But the 24mm will suffice.

I bought this lens as a cheaper alternative to a more expensive Canon lense for my Rebel. I think that the lens is very versatile and practical for my hobby type of photography. I would recommned it to any amateur who wants to experiment with their photography skills. However, I don't think that I'd recommend it to a professional. Here's why: 1. It shows some abberation and vignetting at the 24mm setting. 2.In low light conditions, the lense can be slow to focus because it spends a lot of time searching.

I have nothing but good things to say about this lens. I've used it in all climates - extreme cold to hot - and it works great. The focal length is perfect for portraits through landscapes. Due to its flexibility, I can now carry fewer lenses in the back country which makes for both a lighter day and more photo opportunities.

The zoom lens from Tamron covers everything from the 24mm real wideangle that professionals and serious amateurs demand to 135mm telephoto suitable for portraits-all in one compact package. The first SP lens among Tamron's high power zoom lenses, the lens represents a concept in high power zoom lenses, achieving outstanding performance characteristics worthy of the name SP (Super Performance).
