a very versatile mini tripod

One thing to consider, before you buy: if you don't get a separate tripod head for the camera you're using, you'll have to mount it directly on the tripod mount screw, which is fixed, not like the other gorillas, i.e. you cannot rotate the camera, tilt it up/down, unless you twist the legs of the tripod. So for a complete setup, in order to have the tripod as a stable, fixed base, you'll need a separate mount, to use the camera as with classic tripods. Other than that, I used it mainly fo

It's good for holding a flash unit

These leggs claim to hold 6.5 Lbs, but when put to the test they kept collapsing my camera by sliding the leggs down and out from the weight which by the way is not even 4 Lbs with the lens attached and it is very unstable causing the camera to tip easy, so if you have this, hold your camera and don't trust it by leaving it. I think I should have got the one that can hold 11 Lbs instead. It didn't seem to grip all that good either around my coffee table leg, it could not grip tight enough and

I think I should have got the one that can hold 11 Lbs instead. It didn't seem to grip all that good either around my coffee table leg, it could not grip tight enough and I tightened it has tight as I could, but it kept sliding down to the floor. I decided to keep it and not return it, because it does work good for attaching my flash to it when using wireless remote, I can place it under a log outside or in another room when shooting interiors from a counter top or on the floor hiding it. So it has it's uses....I guess after all.

Owned It for a Year and Some Change

By

I purchased one of these to travel with my D800 and it got frequent use alongside my 16-35mm. It takes a little while to get it setup, it wouldn't support the weight very well if the legs weren't straight, which if you just had it wrapped around a railing takes a while to sort out. The biggest problem I had with this product is the minimum diameter you can wrapt it around something. I was trying to get it around a railing when I cracked one of the sections with very little force. This made it not hold near as much weight and over time more and more of them cracked. Finally on a trip to Italy, a few of the sections fell off where it had cracked and I just tossed it in the garbage. I liked the versatility and light weight nature, but the design breaks far too easily for me to consider another one.

Nifty

I have been familiar with this product for some time so there were no surprises. It packs easily and is sturdy enough to handle my rather heavy DSLR (Canon 5D MIII). I have some mobility problems and will be using it to steady the camera when shooting from a car window. I anticipate it make HDR work more available. It wil not substitute for a real professional tripod but those will not fit in a backpack nor will your companion willingly carry one for you for any distance. It will give you great mobility and adequate stability.

Awesome combo

By

I love being able to carry this tripod everywhere I go. It's light and sturdy and I can attach it to almost anything. The level gives me a little concern because it would be easy to get it broken.

My wife has been wanting this for some time. It performs just as expected. She can't wait to put it to good use.

Overall the experience left a bad taste.

By

The Joby works fine. I ordered a package the joby plus a few freebies and did not get the freebies. I contacted Adorama and said that they would fix it. Except when I came from vacation they said I had to send it back, in order to get the freebies. So I just left it at that without my freebies. A few bucks of missing freebies can really sour the taste.

Great little tripod

By

I carry this tripod with me all the time. It enabled me to get some great shots that I would not have been able to shoot otherwise due to low light or long zooms.
