Great little gadget

from Pittsburgh, PA

Bought this to use for my GoPro. This is not of the highest quality but is made well. Plan to use it on the inside car windsheild for interviews as a second camera.

just what i wanted

smaller than I thought but works great

Worth the money

from Washington, DC  -  Photo Enthusiast

The price was right so I bought this to play around using my JVC action cam and a Canon S95. that I thought I would mount it on my dashboard. I tested the suction cup on my desk (smooth wood) and I found it adequate to hold either of the two cameras but it is weak compared to my GPS mount. It would not stick to my dahsboard, which is leather, so I ended up attaching the mount to the windshield instead. This works fine with the JVC since I can invert the video. There is a problem also if you want to mount the camera so it faces 90 degrees to the suction cup, say on a window. The lens is obscured by the suction cup. If it were an inch or so longer the lens would clear the suction cup. On the plus side, the ball tightens up quite well and holds the camera solidly in position. The unit is light weight and overall I would buy it again.

Questions about this item:

doug c  does the suction cup base separate from the ball head and if so is the ball head able to attach to a tripod eg a 1/4 " screw hole?
BRIAN G  Hi, This is a nice unit. I use it to mount small camera on dash for video. However, it does not separate from base, it is molded. Nice idea though.
Isaac C  just curious as to the circumferenceor diameter of this suction cup? the object i'm mounting it on is not very big. 8 inch Circ. and 2.5 inch diameter. Any Ideas? Thanks
MICHAEL W  greetings Isaac, the rubbery area that attaches to the flat glass or car GPS dash grip's is 2 5/8 inches around. then 3 1/4 inches tall. unless you move the ball down then it would lower 3/4th an inch lower. I think it has to be flat and clean to get a proper suction)to work. car windows are fine but heat might loosen it. I attach my GoPro or other small time lapse cameras to this mount, then I attach the mount to a GPS rubbery grip for the dash of a car or the windows. this mount is smaller than a GoPo Suction mount and it has more movement to place the camera at the desired angle. it has worked ok for the few times that I have used it. you really have to twist / tork down on the ball screw to not have the camera drift around. also dirty areas and heat some times makes the suction loose the seal. (then gravity takes affect) once you tweak on it then it works fine. I hope this helps have a grand day. sincerely Michael W
Shopper  The Flashpoint Suction Cup Ball Head looks like it would work independent of any other piece and by itself. Will it?
MELANIE P  I have a Capta sticky pad I use with mine for my phone and either use that or the screw on for my camera. I have used this independent of a stand since day one. Sometimes you need a piece of something less porous, like glass, for the suction cup to work though so keep that in mind
