I got the bag 6 months ago, have been busy so did not get a chance to use it till 2 days ago, went to Disney World for 2 days, I am a big guy, so getting in and out of the rides was a concern, not an issue just slid it to the back or front or took it off and carried it, also the water ride it got soaked, only on the outside, everything was dry inside. Yes the big compartment needs 2 zippers to make it easier, but I think a strap extension would be better. I felt the equipment was safe from bumps and short drops, and for what I needed it held all the equipment I needed. For those of you that thought it was not big enough to carry everything, sorry about your luck, you don't drive a VW Bug to run a taxi service, so why buy this size when you know its not big enough. Have a 25 year old corrispondant bag from Tarmac that has held up great so expect this to do the same

This bag works great when I am hiking as it allows for good protection but is easy and fast to get to the camera when you need it.

It's a nice little pack for a medium bodied camera with 2 to 3 lenses and some accessories. The padding is adequate, but don't go smashing it into everything; it's not meant to be a tank! The build quality is pretty good though, I've owned it for a couple years now and it's holding up well. Comfort can be an issue because the pack seems to want to slide down to your side a lot, but it's still not uncomfortable, just annoying.

This is a great bag if you don't have a lot of gear and are just on a short, casual trip. It wouldn't be the greatest for traveling or large lenses, but Tamrac does offer larger models. Also a little pricey for what it is.

If you have many small items, you might need the bigger size.

I attend sports car races and was in need of a comfortable "not too big, not too small" backpack or slingpack for walking around the tracks all day. I also needed it to accomodate my Nikon D90 with 18-200mm zoom attached as well as have room for my 70-300mm zoom for when I need more reach, my speedlight for after the sun sets and storage for personal items like my wallet and cell phone. I went back and forth between the Lowepro Slingshot 100 and 200 and the Tamrac Velocity 6x, 7x and 8x...finally deciding on the Velocity 7x and I couldn't be happier. The Lowepro has more storage for personal items and a built-in all-weather cover but it is much bulkier and wasn't as comfortable to me. My Velocity 7x is just the right size for the above equipment...I also managed to squeeze in my 50mm 1.4 at the very bottom under the camera/lense. I also like that it has sliplock attachment loops on the sides in case I need further expansion for a third or fourth lense or a water bottle. I highly recommend this pack, it is comfortable to wear all day long and is well made. Just determine what size you need based on what you plan on carrying and buy with confidence.

Great bag to use when all you need is to carry basically a camera and flash or a camera and a second lens. Almost invisible when slinging the bag on your back. It has a nice shape and color, easy access and you can carry other small things too: Pen, Memory cards and ID.

I find this bag great for walk abouts and places I don't want to carry a big bag full of stuff I don't need . it fits close and is very comfortable. I have carried it with a camera ,two lens, and a tripod at a car show all day with out a problem

Using the Velocity 6X (pre reverse flaps), which is a GREAT bag, for a while now, I was looking for a similar type to accommodate my Olympus 510 DSLR with 70-300mm telephoto lens attached. I can configure the 7X to hold it ok but not much else. However, pulling it out of the bag just was not working. The reverse flap is part of the problem but also the opening is restricted depth wise when wearing it. The main zipper is a major pain to operate. Just not as good as the Velocity 6X bag.

The bag is very light and comfortable but will carry only a canon XSI and flash. It will not hold my canon 50D. I will probably get a #9 bag.

Adequate space to hold Nikon DSLR, 18-200 zoom, spare batteries, memory cards, various p-series filters, and holder. Could hold a lens or two instead of filters/holder. Rides nice on back or on front when I'm carrying a backpack for long daytrips or overnights.

Descriptions were not entirely clear whether my larger Digital SLR would be accommodated. I took a chance because of a sale, but it didn't work out as it was too hard to get the camera in and out and the weight was not comfortable to carry with the one strap. Probably fine for a small D-SLR.

A very good product. Wish that it had more pockets and a little more accessible. The product is very durable. And I`m very happy with it.

The camera/lens compartment would be perfect if it had opposing zippers - two that could be pulled in opposite directions to open the top - like the Lowepro Sideline Shooter. Also, the front pocket storage is smaller than I thought. However, I really do like the shoulder strap. It's a lot more comfortable and easier to carry than the Lowepro Sideline Shooter, which is strictly a belt pack.

I found the bag perfect for camera alone. But when I carry, lenses, flash, vertical grip and batteries, it becomes uncomfortable due to weight. I beleive the real fault is in the sling design. I could have been more padded.

Wanted a bag that was comfortable and easy to get to the camera without constantly removing the bag for our family vacation to Disney World. I wanted to bring my Digital SLR and not just a point and shoot. The bag was great, it was easy to get the camera in and out. I carried it 10 plus hours a day for 7 straight days and it never felt uncomfortable. It was the perfect size for my camera, extra lens and my flash.

Though it doesn't look like a camera bag, the Velocity 7x - Photo Sling Pack is a unique, ultra-functional pack that carries like a backpack, but swings around to the front for quick access to an SLR with a 6" lens attached and a couple additional lenses. Inside the main compartment, the camera with lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers.
The secure, zippered Quick Flip Top opens away from the body for fast and convenient access to camera gear. A well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. A Tuck-A-Way waist belt allows the pack to be used while hiking, biking or doing other activities.
The front pocket has organizer pockets inside to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within easy reach. It also features Tamrac's U.S. - patented Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries from ones that are used up. A pocket inside the lid stores filters and lens caps. This pack is also customizable with Tamrac's Modular Accessory System components.
