You get what you pay for!!!!

By

from D.C.  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Clarification: I ordered the TT Streetwalker Backpack for my full frame camera but it is not for a full frame camera. It is for a smaller DSLR (Nikon D5000 or any other DX frame). The Streetwalker Backpack fit my D5000 perfectly!!!, but my full frame did not fit correctly. Hence, I exchange it for the TT Streetwalker Backpack Pro. It fits my full frame perfectly. It is an awesome backpack. Everything about it is outstanding. I have wear the Pro bag with my full frame w/ a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens; a 17-35mm lens, a 85mm lens, and my D5000 camera with a 18-55mm; a 55-300mm DX lens, and a 10-24mm DX lens. All this fitted fine and once in your back it does not feel heavy. Again, it is a beautiful backpack. The only difference between the Streetwalker Backpack and the SB PRO is that the PRO is for a full frame body. Oh yeah, I also attached a tripod to the PRO bag when I wore and it did not felt heavy. Awesome bag. You will not regret getting this bag. Also, it looks like a regular backpack so it will not attract unwanted attention.

Excellent Light Field Use

By

from Flagstaff, AZ  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Love this backpack for light field and urban use. Cracks me up that people thought it was too small. I needed smaller, I just do not always need or want a giant bag with every lens I own. Personally, I normally use this with the Nikon D800 & 80-400 VR ED lens attached. I have the 85 f1.4 & 24 f1.4 along with the 16 f2.8 the 1.7 converter SB400 flash a GPS unit and some spare batteries and a Gitzo Field tripod and RRS Ballhead. Just hiked all over Sonora Mexico with it. No problems, even has space for two water bottles and rather comfortable. It also worked extremely well roaming around Hermosillo at night shooting pics. Not so big as to attract attention of would be thieves. If I need big, I have a Kinesis pro backpack. It will fit my 200-400 VR and a ton more gear. Get the bag for what you want to carry. They haven't made the do everything pack. You just need to see if it will hold what you want to carry.

Very Nice Backpack

By

from Minneapolis, MN  -  Photo Enthusiast

I was in the market for a new photo backpack - something smaller than my mammoth (and uncomfortable-as-a-backpack Lowepro Rolling CompuTrekker AW but still large enough to carry my D7000 body, 300mm f4, 70-200 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, SB-800, and a monopod or tripod - basically a pack to carry for some moderately close wildlife photos. My other criteria were that whatever I picked needed to protect my equipment well from shock or impact, needed to be reasonably waterproof, needed to be somewhat heavy-duty for extended and prolonged use, and needed to be comfortable to wear when loaded. I looked at Lowepro's ProRunner 300, Tamrac's Evolution 8, Kata's 3N1-25PL, and this ThinkTank. I honestly believe that any of them would be adequate for the task at hand, and all would have performed admirably, but in the end I wanted to get the ThinkTank product. Reservations: My equipment sits in the pack somewhat awkwardly - the adjustable interior is somewhat too deep, in my opinion, and the two main sections are not fit especially well to my equipment. The equipment does fit, however, with room to spare. The depth of the backpack is more than I need for my stuff but the other dimensions are good (but not great.) So why, even with these reservations, did I give it 4 out of 5 stars? Simple. I picked the backpack to carry my stuff. It's not the fault of the backpack that I chose the one that my gear didn't fit snugly within. More importantly, the backpack is very well constructed (durable,) my gear is easy to access, and I would think that the protection afforded by this pack is at least as good as any other brand of soft 'luggage' for carrying camera equipment as any other brands. To get more protection you'll have to step up to hard-sided cases like Pelican or Vanguard. Additionally, the portability question is answered with a very comfortable set of straps that stay in place on my shoulders nicely, and a very comfortable feel against my back when the case is fully loaded. ThinkTank has a reputation for durability and logical design among pro photographers, and while my fit isn't all that I would like it to be, I'm going to continue to try moving stuff around to give me a better fit. I certainly have no complaints about the quality of the materials used or the assembly of the pack. I have every reason to believe my pack will last a good long time.

Excellent backpack for camera gear!

By

from Northern burbs of Chicago  -  Photo Enthusiast

I've been using Think Tank bags for a while. This is the first time I purchased one of their backpacks and I am very happy with it. Comfortable. Easy to configure. Secure. Very easy for me to carry/transport my gear and keep shooting. I have been carrying a DSLR with a 70-200 f2.8 IS (large lens!!) with tripod collar attached, two primes (one attached to the camera body) and a wide angle zoom. Plus many additional items such as spare batteries, cards, lens hood, etc. Still room for more!!

The Best Camera Bag I Have Ever Owned

By

from Mpls.  -  Photo Enthusiast

I have owned dozens of different camera bag looking for the holy grail. I have found that while several different bags were good, that the bags By Far that I liked the best were made by Think Tank. I don't think you will be disappointed in purchasing one of their bags. Their bags aren't the cheapest, but are well worth the price you will pay. They are made to withstand what ever you subject it to and they are obviously designed by practicing photographers as functionally they are superb. Another critical factor is the Think Tank service. If you ever have a problem with their equipment contact them and they will take care of it no questions asked. I had misplaced a waist belt that I had removed from one of their bags. I contacted them and asked to purchase a replacement. They sent me a free replacement and I had it in my hands three days later--half way across the country. The size of the Streetwalker Pro is perfect for my needs. Very comfortable to carry, even fully loaded with my 300mm f2.8 and very airplane friendly. I like the added depth of this bag, as compared to many others. I wish I would have had this bag when I had my Nikon D3s, as with the grip it would have worked much better and even with my current D800 I like the added depth of the bag--allows me to place some medium sized lenses vertically in the adjustable bag compartments, rather than having to fit them in horizontally.

Awesome bag! Very streamlined!

By

from Los Angeles  -  Photo Enthusiast

Used to buy and use Tamrac backpacks, but this bag gets all my gear into a bag that fits better on on your back and distributes all weight more evenly - great for boarding planes with the pack on and not hitting everyone in the head as you walk up the aisles and fits better in the overhead without taking up much space. Ideal for hiking, too.

Great backpack

By

First of all I have to tell you if you fill this bag it gets really heavy. But considering its size, it holds a lot more than you think.

Inconspicuous

By

from Boulder, CO  -  Photo Enthusiast

I returned another larger bag in exchange for this. The Think Tank is the perfect size for my camera, zoom lens, flash and a few filters, etc. for day time trips. It is not as deep and boxy as other packs and looks more like a student pack. I like that it is narrower from side to side. A tight fit for the gear. Seems well padded. Would be nice if the zippers were covered and seam sealed so it would be waterproof without having to use the provided rain cover.
