The Bessa T is a 35mm rangefinder camera with M-mount (bayonet) system. "As the first Voigtlander camera to feature the M-mount," continued Mr. Leven, "the Bessa T launches Voigtlander into full compatibility with Leica systems." The Bessa T works with almost any M-mount lens, as well as with almost any Leica Screw mount lens with its optional M-mount- to -screw-mount adapter.
The Bessa T is the first and only M-mount camera in production with an optional factory trigger winder for manual rapid film advance. The camera uses accessory shoe-mounted viewfinders, and features a rangefinder with a long effective base length built into the lightweight 13.8 oz. (385g) body. The Bessa T also features a focal plane shutter and TTL metering system, as well as a mechanical 10-second timer, X-synchro contact flash terminal synchronized at 1/125 seconds or less. Film speed range is IS0 25-1600 in 1/3 steps, and the camera features an exposure coupling range of EV1 to 19.
