The Hasselblad XPan is a unique dual format camera for regular 35 mm film. Instead of masking the film like most cameras do to achieve a "panorama effect" the Hasselblad XPan expands the image format. Every exposure utilizes the full area of the film and all images, irrespective of format, provide the same superior quality.
Using regular 35 mm film, the Hasselblad XPan dual format camera lets you switch between normal 35 mm format and full panorama format, 24x65 mm, as many times as you wish - mixing the two formats in any order on the same roll of film.
The XPan features a wide range of convenient, user-friendly features, such as TTL exposure metering, single or continuous exposure with a frame rate of three 24x36 mm frames or two panorama frames per second, shutter release by button, cable, or self-timer, and auto bracketing.
The camera also features automatic self wind-on and final rewind and a bright viewfinder and coupled rangefinder to ensure optimal viewing and focusing. Viewfinder information is adjusted automatically, according to the focal length of the lens and the chosen format.
Information describing total exposure history, ISO settings, auto-bracketing, and battery status is provided via the LCD panel on the back of the camera. A smaller LCD display, showing the format and number of exposures remaining, is located conveniently on the top plate of the camera.
