Excellent paper

I made a fabulous print with this paper on my first try, using a smaller 4"x6" paper to get the contrast correct. I am very happy with this product and will buy again when I need it. Adorama provides a great product with fast shipping.

Awesome purchase for the money

Purchased this name brand on advice from other students. Name brand (Ilford, etc) photo paper can be expensive, especially fiber paper. Considering college students are always looking to save a buck, many students purchased the Adorama brand fiber paper because it was an inexpensive alternative to other name brands. They got good results, so I tried it. I love it! It is comparable to other name brands, easy to work with, and virtually no difference in using other papers of the same type. I will definitely be purchasing the Adorama brand from now on.

great value!

This paper is just as good as Ilford. It's about 1/2 to 1 stop faster than ilford but it looks just as good. It develops very quickly so you may have to adjust your development time. The only thing I don't like about it it's very sensitive.. a lot more so than ilford. Make sure you keep it away from your safe light and know that the smallest change in time and/or contrast makes a big difference.

Good stuff !! Great price !!

I back in the darkroom after decades, and taking a course at the community college. The others are using the high dollar paper, I'm making great prints, and my Adorama fiber paper costs less than the RC they buy.

• Adorama VGFB Gloss is a high speed variable contrast black and white enlarging paper with a double weight fiber base. The use of color filters permits selection of required contrast from a range of grades similar to that of graded papers, with the advantage to the user of reduced paper stock. A neutral image tone and a clean white base combine to give a high quality paper equally suitable for dish processing. The paper gives a consistent image tone across the grades and exhibits good sharpness.
• This paper is designed for use with tungsten or tungsten halogen light sources. Other light sources may give different contrast values. Exposure of the paper is straight forward, depending on which filter system is in use. For Ilford Multigrade filters, grades 00 to 3 have the same speed (ISO P 250) and grades 4 and 5 require approximately twice the exposure. For the filter settings, grades 0 to 4 have the same speed (ISO P 320). Grades 00 and 5 require more exposure (ISO P 250). When no filter is used, the paper has a contrast of approximately grade 2 and a speed of ISO P 640.
• Open only in a darkroom illuminated by safelights Ilford 904 or Kodak OC containing 15W bulbs or equivalent; red safelights may also be used. The safelights should be at least one metre from the paper at all times and good working practice of keeping exposure to safelight at a minimum should be adopted. Unused paper should be returned to its original packaging for storage.
