G-DRIVE mini is bus powered, eliminating the need to carry an external AC power supply. USB does not supply enough power to reliably operate the new, larger drive capacities over 160GB. Some systems may work with the 160GB models, for others an optional power supply is available. G-DRIVE mini sports the latest hot-pluggable FireWire and USB interfaces to provide industry leading performance and universal connectivity.
