Maxell's DV-186PRO tape for HDV and DV achieves superior image quality and outstanding performance across a wide variety of applications. Maxell has applied its many years of videocassette tape development expertise and numerous advanced tape technologies to create a durable and reliable magnetic tape and shell that both HDV and DV demands. With the introduction of a new robust lubricant and a diamond like carbon (DLC) film with extra thickness, the durability of the tape is dramatically boosted in various environments and in repetitive situations such as high-speed playback, editing and rewinding. This rugged durability provides for improved short wavelength output, decreased noise and minimized spacing loss with the video head.
