Sima SS-WL4EX 4-Pair Speaker Selector with Volume Control

The SSW-L4-EX is a speaker selector that allows the user to expand a two speaker stereo system into an eight speaker system. This will expand a system to various areas of a house or facility utilizing only one amplifier. Each channel has separate level controls so each speaker area can be set for a desired effect.

The SS-WL4EX simultaneously accepts speaker wire output from two amplifiers. Combined with Sima's simple SVS-14 passive audio/video switcher, you can effectively audition two amplifiers in your system on the fly. To achieve this, first connect your source output to the SVS-14 switcher.

Then connect your two amplifiers to two of the outputs on the SVS-14. Next, feed the speaker wire outputs of the amplifiers into the SS-WL4EX and finally your speakers themselves to the SS-WL4EX. With identical cabling in all cases and a single power supply, you'll have the scientific method down pat to really see what's what with your system. If you had two identical amplifiers, you could even use this method to simply vary the interconnect cables.
