Shopper : I would use this unit for both, still photos and HD video (with a Canon EOS 5D MarkII). Does the head allow for smooth panning? Is it easy to carry?BENZELL F : This tripod does allow for smooth panning but it is very heavy and awkward to carry!TODD C : Good tripod for stills. I don't shoot much video, but I believe I'd want a different head with handles for panning. Hope this helps.SHARON W : Yes, it has a dedicated panning release and the motion is smooth.
