The best yet

In the sixty years that I have been a photographer, I have owned many tripods and monopods. I hate tripods, and once you learn the proper way to use a monopod, you will leave your tripod in the studio. I was originally sceptical that a five section monopod could be rigiid enough or fast enough, but this is the perfect pod for SLR'S. I also have the L 50 version that I use with my NEX 6.

The Velbon Ultra Stick R50 5-Section Aluminum Monopod is an extremely lightweight camera support that extends to a maximum height of 61". Featuring Velbon's patented twist & release leg locking system, the monopod can be extended with a single twist of the wrist.

The R50 is ideal for situations that require mobility as well as sturdy camera support, such as nature and sports photography. The aluminum monopod weighs just 0.96 lb and contracts to a very portable 15.2". The Ultra Stick R50 features a 1/4"-20 screw at the top for attachment to a head or directly to a camera.
